Klaus Romero is the Chief Science Officer at the Critical Path Institute (C-Path). Dr. Romero, a clinical pharmacologist and epidemiologist with more than 17 years combined experience in academic and pharmaceutical clinical research, translational sciences, pharmacometrics, modeling and simulation and pharmacoepidemiology, has been with C-Path since December 2007.

Mary J. Ryan is an emeritus board member who worked for Medco Health Solutions, Inc., from 1988 until 2012. She is retired as vice president, corporate regulatory group, responsible for interface with various regulatory agencies, including state boards of pharmacy and departments of insurance. Mary graduated from UA with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in 1974. She completed her master’s degree in business administration at Arizona State University in 1983.

Joseph Scheeren, PharmD, worked in R&D in the Pharmaceutical Industry for over 35 years in the USA, China and Europe. He led Regulatory Affairs and Development in US/China in Bayer in the last 15 years. Since January 2019, he is Adjunct Professor at Peking University for Regulatory Sciences in the Department of Clinical Research. In April 2019 he joined C-Path Institute as its President and CEO. Dr. Scheeren serves on Advisory Boards at the Center for Innovation in Regulatory Science, the Regulatory Affairs Track at Yale University, the Center of Regulatory Excellence in Singapore.

Dr. Schnellmann teaches medical, graduate, and undergraduate students across several courses at the University of Arizona. 

Rick G. Schnellmann, PhD, is dean endowed chair of the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy and holds the Howard J Schaeffer in Pharmaceutical Sciences Endowed Chair. A leading pharmacologist, researcher and drug discovery entrepreneur, he joined the UA in August 2016 from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Bruce Seligmann is the co-founder and CSO of BioSpyder Technologies, Inc., and is conducting research in collaboration with the University of Arizona Cancer Center. He's also the co-founder, director, chief science officer and vice president of research at High Throughput Genomics based in Tucson.

Hilary Sheevers received her PhD from the University of Arizona in 1994, under Dr. A. Jay Gandolfi. After leaving Arizona, Dr. Sheevers was employed in CDER at FDA, Washington, D.C., as a reviewer and a supervisor.  At FDA, she served on or chaired committees including carcinogenicity, reproductive and developmental toxicity, phototoxicity, botanical products, and excipients. Since leaving FDA, Hilary has consulted as a senior toxicologist to the pharmaceutical industry, and founded Aclairo PDG, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in drugs and biologics development.

Rachna T. Shroff, MD, MS is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Chief of the Section of GI Medical Oncology. Dr. Shroff has been a member of the ASCO Scientific Committee, Noncolorectal Track as well as the ASCO Gastrointestinal Guidelines Advisory Group. She participates in the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) GI Committee, and the NCI Hepatobiliary Taskforce being the national Principal Investigator on SWOG 1815.

Dr. I. Glenn Sipes is Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona. While at Arizona, his research program focused on the biotransformation of xenobiotics and on chemical-induced liver and ovarian injury. He authored over 250 research publications and was a co-editor-in-chief of Comprehensive Toxicology (13 volumes). For 29 years he served as head of the Departments of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the UA College of Pharmacy and of Pharmacology in the UA College of Medicine.

Bill is currently an Executive Director at Gilead Sciences in Foster City, CA and head of the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics department. The DMPK department provides nonclinical in vitro and in vivo data to support drug discovery and development. Bill received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Utah, a Ph.D. in Pharm/Tox from the University of Arizona and completed post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

Dr. Smith's research is focused on epigenetic mechanisms of gene expression, particularly their regulation through signaling pathways and their modulation by anti-cancer drugs.

Brianne Spaeth, Pharm D, is the owner and Pharmacist-in-charge at Desert Life Pharmacy in SaddleBrooke, where she strives to promote a strong community focused patient care environment.

Jenene Spencer is an instructor in the Pharmacy Practice and Science department as well as the IPPE (Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences) coordinator in the Experiential Education department. She prepares first-year students for IPPEs, precepts first-year students during the SOAR (Student and Older Adult Relationship) program at long-term/assisted-living care facilities, trains students for health screening outreach events and coordinates/manages rotation assignments for first-, second- and third-year students.

Marcus Sredzinski is the chief operating officer and executive vice president of Medical Security Card Company, LLC and ScriptSave in Tucson, where he is responsible for pharmacy strategic initiatives including clinical programs, operations and trade relations. Prior to joining ScriptSave, Marcus was a managed care executive of national accounts for Elan Pharmaceuticals and pharmacy director at HealthPartners Health Plan. A 1991 graduate of the UA College of Pharmacy, he holds a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and chemistry and a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Chris Stallman is a board-certified genetic counselor with experience in cardiovascular and prenatal genetics, teratogen exposures, pre-implantation genetic screening, and pharmacogenetic counseling. She joined MotherToBaby Arizona in 2015 as a Teratogen Information Specialist, and teaches teratology to medical students, residents and other health professionals. In 2018, Ms. Stallman was appointed as Program Coordinator for MotherToBaby Arizona. She also serves as clinical instructor and clinical coordinator for the University of Arizona Genetic Counseling Graduate Program.

Lee Ann Stember is President & CEO of NCPDP, a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder forum for developing healthcare business solutions, including ANSI-accredited standards for electronic exchange of healthcare information. As President & CEO for nearly four decades, she has led NCPDP to continued success in its transformative role in pharmacy services, creating and promoting adoption of consensus-based standards and best practices that improve patient safety and decrease costs.

Dr. Sun’s research aims to exploit the techniques in synthetic chemistry, immunology, medicine and nanotechnology to develop safe and effective therapies for patients with cancer or other life-threatening diseases.
