Kathryn Matthias, PharmD, BCIDP serves as associate clinical professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. Matthias also practices as a Infectious Diseases / HIV Pharmacist at the Peterson HIV Clinic. She completed a specialized residency in critical care as well as a pharmacy practice residency at University Medical Center through the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. She received a Bachelor of Arts in biology-chemistry at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the UA in 2005.

Michael Mayersohn was born and raised in New York City. He obtained a BS in Pharmacy from Columbia University and a PhD in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics from the State University of NY at Buffalo (with Dr. Milo Gibaldi). He is Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, where he has spent most of his academic career.

Mobeen Moslem, PharmD, earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2013. With 19 years of experience at Walgreens, he progressed through various roles, ultimately serving as the Director of Operations for Southern Arizona. Leveraging his extensive operational expertise, Mobeen transitioned to a new industry by joining the Partner Fast Track Program, where he is dedicated to expanding New York Life's presence in Arizona.

Active professionally, John Elliott Murphy III, PharmD, FASHP, FCCP served as president of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

The prolific author of hundreds of original research, other papers, and several books and has received grants and awards from a variety of organizations.

John Musil is the founder of Avella Specialty Pharmacy, which was acquired by UnitedHealthCare in 2018. Avella is a national specialty pharmacy focused on clinical management of patients with rare diseases. John is a 1994 graduate of the UA College of Pharmacy and a recipient of the 2010 Young Professional Achievement Award given by the Arizona Alumni Association. In 2012, Avella received the Arizona Corporate Excellence Award as the fastest-growing privately held company based in Arizona and was a twelve-time recipient as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in America by Inc.

Dr. Nix is a professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. He received his BS Pharmacy in 1982 and PharmD in 1984 from the University of Georgia. From 1984-1986, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in infectious disease pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetics at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  From 1986 to 1996, he served as program director, antimicrobial research, assistant director, and associate director of the Clinical Pharmacokinetics Laboratory, Millard Fillmore Hospital. The transcriptional and the metabolic programs of a cell are two fundamental sets of instructions that dictate the behavior of the cell, the functions performed by the cell, and how the cell responds to various stimuli. These two programs interact with one another and change in response to physiochemical stimuli, enabling the cell to restore cellular homeostasis. Permanent alteration to these cellular programs contributes to the development of various pathologic conditions. Our research focuses on characterizing the mechanisms by which these pathologic alterations arise.

Bioinformatic and Computational Biology Research Specialist with emphasis in software development. Founded Azomic Applied Bioinformatics LLC in 2023, based out of Arizona, USA. The mission is to facilitate socially responsible collection and curation of environmental and anonymized human genomic data to be made public for theoretical and clinical research.

Loretta has a BA in Interpersonal Communication and an MBA both from The University of Arizona in sunny Tucson. She previously worked in the College of Pharmacy from 2013 – 2018 and is excited to return and be a part of the Experiential Education team. As an avid backpacker, Loretta enjoys being outdoors year-round in the southwest and continually finds new and exciting places to explore. She is a long-time member of the Embroiderer's Guild of America and enjoys doing hand embroidery and beadwork in her free time.
