Jianqin Lu, BPharm, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics at R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy (RKCCOP). The Lu research laboratory strives to develop innovative, safe, and efficacious therapeutics at the interface of drug delivery, synthetic chemistry, pharmaceutics, nanotechnology, biomaterials, and tumor immunology to address the pressing unmet needs in current cancer and other diseases therapy and prevention, particularly in the emerging field of combination immunochemotherapy.

John has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of pharmaceutical drug development and licensing.  He led the preclinical and clinical R&D efforts at MGI Pharma, an oncology-focused company, from 1996 through 2005 and served as a consultant through MGI’s acquisition by Eisai in 2008.  Prior to MGI he worked in large pharma at Warner-Lambert and in academia as an NIH funded researcher at UC San Francisco.

Professor Emeritus

Daniel C. Malone, PhD, FAMCP, is Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona’s R. Ken Koit College Pharmacy and is Professor of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah’s Skaggs College of Pharmacy. His research over the past 20 years has focused on reducing the incidence of drug-drug interactions and improving clinical decision support for drug safety concerns.  He also has experience in randomized controlled trials, economic modeling, and outcomes research using observational data. Dr. Malone has over 200 peer-reviewed research publications.

Jennifer R. Martin is a Librarian in the Arizona Health Sciences Library and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science in the College of Pharmacy. She joined the library faculty in 2007 and gained her dual appointment in the College of Pharmacy in 2011. As an embedded librarian in the College of Pharmacy, her primary role is to support the research and scholarship of faculty, students and staff through consultation, collaboration, and library instruction.

Lynne Mascarella holds an educational and administrative coordination role with the Center for Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic Research (HOPE). She retired from the University after 40 years of service, previously serving as the director of continuing education and alumni affairs. She orchestrated the development, delivery, and accreditation of continuing education programs for pharmacy professionals. In this role, she worked with the HOPE Center team to deliver training programs and conferences and returned to the College to continue these efforts.

Kathryn Matthias, PharmD, BCIDP serves as associate clinical professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. Matthias also practices as a clinical pharmacy specialist in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson. She completed a specialized residency in critical care as well as a pharmacy practice residency at University Medical Center through the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.

He is Professor Emeritus of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, where he has spent most of his academic career.

Mobeen is the Healthcare Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations for Walgreens Co., based in Southern Arizona. Mobeen is responsible for building team effectiveness in Pharmacy/Healthcare, using pharmacy knowledge to improve patient health outcomes, implementing pharmacy/healthcare strategy, and championing the patient experience. Mobeen joined Walgreens in 2006 as pharmacy technician. During his tenure, he has held various positions, ascending from pharmacy manager to healthcare supervisor in 2018.
