Xinxin Ding named 2023 ASPET Fellow

Xinxin Ding, PhD, a professor and head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, was named a 2023 American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics fellow. 

“I am humbled,” said Ding, who is a member of the BIO5 Institute. “It's a great honor and I will take it as a reminder to work harder for my fellow pharmacologists.” 

ASPET fellows have dedicated their careers to the field of pharmacology and have made exceptional contributions to its advancement. Recognition is bestowed on the society's most distinguished members. 

Ding, who has been a member of ASPET since 1997, was editor-in-chief for ASPET's journal, Drug Metabolism and Disposition, and has served on the ASPET Council as secretary/treasurer and several of its committees. 

“Our college is playing important roles in advancing the field of pharmacology,” he said. “Our faculty conducts cutting-edge pharmacology research. They regularly publish their research findings in ASPET journals. And they serve ASPET and pharmacology in various professional capacities, such as editors or editorial board members and division leaders. We also train the next generation of pharmacologists through our PhD program in pharmacology and toxicology." 

According to its website, ASPET’s mission is to be a “professional home for educators, students, researchers, health care practitioners and other professionals working to advance pharmacology research, exchange knowledge and increase the impact and influence of this scientific discipline.” The society has more than 4,000 members.
