Q & A
Why did you choose the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
- Not only was it in my home state, but I knew I would be able to find a supportive community that would help me throughout my undergraduate career. When I was first welcomed into the college, I immediately knew I chose the right place since everyone was so supportive and willing to help.
What inspired you to pursue a BSPS?
- During high school, I was fortunate enough to attend a technical school where I was able to learn a little about pharmacy and that piqued my interest. After learning more about the BSPS, I found that there were so many different opportunities available through this one degree. I wanted to explore and learn more about those opportunities, instead of settling onto one option that I might not like after three years.
What’s one hobby or interest you have that might surprise your classmates?
- Even though I am pretty much from the desert, I really enjoy going snowboarding, especially with my friends and family. Since moving to Tucson, I haven’t been able to go as frequently, but I hope to go again this season, especially up in Canada to visit my cousins.
What’s a lesson you’ve learned from a mistake or failure during your studies?
- Never give up. It’s a little corny, but it goes a long way. If something goes wrong, there is something you can always tweak or change to get a better outcome. Trying harder is worth more than giving up.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the BSPS program?
- Each course has its troubles and you have to push through because it is worth it in the end. There are so many resources and people around campus that are willing to help you in just about anything. Make sure to take advantage of the resources on campus.
