Nominations Now Open for College Awards

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their hard work, leadership or generosity? Faculty, staff, alumni, preceptors and members of the college’s National Advisory Board are invited to nominate deserving colleagues for a number of college awards.

The Jack R. Cole, PhD, Distinguished Alumnus Award

 

Recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has:

  • Achieved success in pharmaceutical capacity or other capacities

The Findlay E. Russell, MD, PhD, Distinguished Citizen Award

Recognizes an individual who is not a graduate of the UA College of Pharmacy who has: 

  • Achieved success in a health care profession or other capacity

  • Provided leadership to the profession and the community
  • Made a positive impact on the state, nation and world

The Danny and Rae Jacob Award for Pharmacy Practice

 

Recipients must be graduates of the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy or have another significant relationship to the college that has lasted five or more years.  Additionally, a recipient must:

  • Practice pharmacy in an innovative and patient-oriented manner
  • Demonstrate high standards of compassion and caring
  • Be actively involved in service to the profession through state and/or national professional organizations, as well as in service to their community

2020 Awards for Excellence

 

College of Pharmacy employees, excluding faculty student workers, employees who are on a probationary period or who have won the award within the last five years.

 

Any employee of the College of Pharmacy or any enrolled student of the College of Pharmacy may nominate. One nomination packet compiled by a primary nominator is required for an employee to qualify for an award

Schnellmann Family Faculty Award

The recipient must be a Faculty Member (>50% appointment) and a Director or above at The University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy (the “College”) in good standing for a minimum of five (5) years. Past recipients are not eligible to receive this award for five (5) years.

A. Jay Gandolfi Award for Research Excellence

 
  • Nominee must be a tenure eligible Assistant Professor with a primary appointment in a College of Pharmacy department.
  • Nominee must not have received the A. Jay Gandolfi New Investigator Award any prior year.

James Halpert New Investigator Award

 
  • The nominee must be widely recognized for their transformational discoveries or innovative approaches impacting a pharmacy-related scientific field.
  • Nominee must have an academic rank above assistant professor and have their primary appointment in a College of Pharmacy department.
  • Nominee must have a Contact PI on a prior or active, peer-reviewed, national level grant.
  • Nominee must not have received the James Halpert Award for Research Excellence in any prior year.
