The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy will host Jiangbing Zhou, PhD, a Professor of Neurosurgery & Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, as a special guest speaker.
Delivering drugs to the brain presents a significant challenge due to the presence of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), which restricts most drug penetration.
In this presentation, I will introduce a range of techniques developed in my laboratory for brain drug delivery via locoregional, intravenous, or cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) administration.
Through a few examples, I will illustrate how these techniques can be applied to deliver therapeutic agents for the treatment of neurological diseases, such as brain cancer, stroke, and Angelman syndrome.
