Why did you choose to major in Pharmaceutical Sciences and/or Medical Pharmacology & Toxicology?
I chose to major in Pharmaceutical Sciences because I love learning how drugs work in the body and how they can be used to improve lives. I've always been fascinated by the science behind medicine, especially how it's designed to treat complex diseases. This major gives me the foundation to understand drug mechanisms and contribute to developing safe, effective therapies. Ultimately, I want to be part of the process that translates scientific discovery into real-world impact for patients.
What are your career interests?
I'm interested in either becoming a hospital pharmacist or pursuing pharmaceutical research to help improve patient care and advance drug therapy through clinical practice or scientific discovery.
What piece of advice would you give to an incoming PharmSci or PharmTox student?
Stay curious and don't be afraid to ask questions!! This major is all about understanding how medicine works. Build strong study habits early!! Connect with your professors, and take advantage of research or internship opportunities to explore where your interests can take you in the field.
