Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
As a pharmacist, I will have the opportunity to show my clincal competence alongside direct patient care. Pharmacy is the the perfect balance between the two, and a rewarding career for those who have the skills set needed for it.
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
The U of A COP was my first option because the outcomes of graduated students matched my future goals. The residency match rate and NAPLEX pass rate was very high, and that was something that I looked at in all my options for schools.
What about being a PharmD Ambassador excites YOU the most?
This year, I have the opportunity to serve as Lead Ambassador. I am excited to guide new and returning ambassadors and continue to be the face of the college of pharmacy.
What inspires you most about the many possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer?
What comforts me about pharmacy is knowing I will have so many routes I can take to find a specialty that truly calls to me. I am looking forward to a fulfilling career due to the diversity of the options I will have post- graduation.
What are your career interests?
I would like to be a a clinical pharmacist and complete residency.
What piece of advice you would give to a prospective PharmD student?
One of the biggest things I recommend to incoming students is to make friends and build a village. The people you surround yourself with have a big hand in your overall pharmacy school experience. Find friends, like I have, that support your achievements and are their for you during tough times. The people you become friends with now can become life- long friends.
On and off-campus involvement
I am very involved in the college of pharmacy and I have held several E Board positions in various clubs over the years. Additionally, I am continuing to sharpen my leadership skills by participating in different elective classes that will help me in the future. Off campus I like to do humanitarian aid like FMSC and Project CURE. I also volunteer at local mosques.
