Why did you choose to major in Pharmaceutical Sciences and/or Medical Pharmacology & Toxicology?

I chose the Pharmaceutical Sciences major because I felt that it was able to combine the basic sciences that I had loved in high school while helping me build my knowledge in the field that I wanted to go into in the future. I knew that I was interested in research within the world of health and felt that this major would offer me the most detail about how drugs are designed and how they work within the body.

What are your career interests?

In the future I hope to become a research scientist and could see myself going into industry to work for a biotechnology company or becoming a professor at an institution.

What piece of advice would you give to an incoming PharmSci or PharmTox student?

Take advantage of your time with professors. The faculty I've met are supportive and eager to help, whether with coursework or career goals. It may feel intimidating at first, but don't hesitate to ask questions and attend office hours. Building those connections can make a big difference in your journey.
