Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
I chose to pursue my PharmD Degree due to the large amount of opportunities that open up to those who pursue this career. The PharmD Degree is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a career where they can make an impact in others lives which is another reason I chose this pathway.
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
I chose the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy due to its great impact on the local community as well as its large reputation of being an outstanding college that pushes its students to become the very best in their field.
What about being a PharmD Ambassador excites YOU the most?
I am most excited about being an ambassador to this great school is the opportunity to grow as a leader and to help future students learn about this program and all the opportunities that it has to offer.
What inspires you most about the many possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer?
What inspires me the most about all the different possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer is how pharmacy continues to evolve, creating opportunities to work in different health care settings and take on new roles and responsibilities which continue to challenge me and help me grow as a person.
What are your career interests?
I am most interested in oncology, emergency pharmacy, and independent pharmacy.
What piece of advice you would give to a prospective PharmD student?
Stay curious and be willing to ask questions! You do not have to know everything when you begin. Focus on learning, building new connections, and gaining new experiences. The more you put yourself out there the more you will discover what you enjoy about pharmacy!
On and off-campus involvement
On campus I am involved in IPSF, AMCP, PharmHoops, and DIA. I also served as a Patient Education Coordinator for the health fairs and volunteer in many different community outreach events. Off campus, I work an Inpatient Pharmacist Intern at Banner University Medical Center and as a Pharmacy Intern at Fry's where I have gained valuable experiences in patient care, community outreach, and interprofessional teamwork and problem solving. These experiences have made me a better future pharmacist and showed me great insight on the pharmacy career.
