Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
I chose to pursue my PharmD because pharmacy directly targets my passion for science with the opportunity to make a direct difference in patients’ lives. Playing a role as an accessible healthcare provider who can educate and advocate for patients has always been my ultimate goal.
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
I found the welcoming nature of campus drew me back after undergraduate, and I ultimately chose to stay for another 4 years.
What about being a PharmD Ambassador excites YOU the most?
I am excited to give the new first years a warm welcome to the school! To also ensure that their first time on the PharmD campus is something they will remember fondly.
What inspires you most about the many possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer?
I think that if I decide to go down one road, because of the many possibilities in this career field, that doesn't mean every other door closes. It means that I will be able to find multiple parts of the field I enjoy and am able to do at any point in my life.
What are your career interests?
My career interests include rural health, community, and industry pharmacy.
What piece of advice you would give to a prospective PharmD student?
Make friends and find a good coffee spot! Those two alone will help you so much , they will encourage you to go to class and study :)
On and off-campus involvement
On campus, I am a member of PediaCats, Kappa Psi Fraternity, part of the wellness committee, and a newly appointed cholesterol booth coordinator for NCPA. I worked as a technician for 2 years before applying to pharmacy school, and that's a part that drove me to pursue my PharmD.
In addition, in undergraduate, I was a part of ZonaZoo Crew, serving as their event coordinator, as well as a senator for the COP during my last year of undergraduate schooling.
