Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
I've always been fascinated with how medicine, in all its shapes and forms, can help people live a life as close to "normal" as possible. Therefore, I wanted to be apart of the medical field that works adjacent to the people responsible of making that change, which would be pharmacists!
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
U of A was the most cost effective, interesting, and overall favorable choice for myself regarding my learning style.
What about being a PharmD Ambassador excites YOU the most?
I love being an Ambassador since I now become that resource that I was searching for in my prospective years of becoming a PharmD candidate!
What inspires you most about the many possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer?
What I appreciate about pharmacy is that there is a versatile field that ranges from community, to hospital, to even veterinary pharmacy, etc.. If someone is ever wanting to shift focus and try something new, they could!
What are your career interests?
I am currently hoping to work as a pediatric pharmacist at a children's hospital, but I am open to whatever opportunities that present themselves in the near future.
What piece of advice you would give to a prospective PharmD student?
I would recommend to get out of your comfort zone and embrace all that you can! Meet new people and enjoy the time that you spend in these few years. I have learned so much about myself and that was only possible through experiencing things alongside the cool peeps I've met here at RKCCOP.
On and off-campus involvement
Not only do I get to enjoy being an Ambassador, but I am a Co-Class Representative, PediaCats Vice President on the Phoenix campus, and Intern at Phoenix Children's Hospital. These are some of the few standout things I get to enjoy as a student, along with some other volunteer opportunities that I have involved myself in throughout these years.
