Christine Aguilar

Medication Management Specialist

Dr. Aguilar is a graduate of University of Illinois-Chicago College of Pharmacy, and has more than 20 years of clinical pharmacy experience. Beginning her career in a large teaching hospital, Dr. Aguilar practiced both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy while providing training and mentoring to pharmacy students as a preceptor. Dr. Aguilar then joined Abbott Laboratories where she created a Global Medical Information Center for the International Division. She also worked as a Pharmacovigilance Specialist and product consultant for international opinion leaders, and as a product trainer for the international sales force, designing and delivering sessions in several countries.

More recently, Dr. Aguilar has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including an anti-coagulation clinic and a collaborative practice pilot program, both which served disadvantaged, mostly Spanish speaking patients, and with CVS Caremark as part of the Federal Employee Patient-Centered Care Team.As a Medication Therapy Management Specialist, Dr. Aguilar conducts one-on-one, comprehensive medication reviews for English and Spanish speaking patients to optimize the benefits of their medication regimens. She enjoys helping patients understand their medications and manage their chronic medical conditions. Dr. Aguilar also serves as a preceptor for College of Pharmacy students from the University of Arizona and Midwestern University.

She also provides diabetes management services for Spanish speaking patients, as part of the SinfoniaRx collaboration with the Mexican consulate’s “Ventanillas de Salud” program. Dr. Aguilar is a member of the Arizona Pharmacy Association, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, American Pharmacists Association, and the American Society for Medication Therapy Management.
