Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
I chose the pharmD path because of the many career opportunities it offers, as well as my strong interest in learning about medications and how they work.
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
I chose the U of A because I also attended here for my undergraduate degree and really enjoyed the community and environment.
What about being a PharmD Ambassador excites YOU the most?
I am excited to return as an ambassador and am especially looking forward to sharing my experiences with incoming students and helping them navigate their journey at the U of A.
What inspires you most about the many possibilities a career in pharmacy can offer?
What inspires me the most about a career in pharmacy is the wide variety of paths and opportunities it offers. I love that pharmacy allows me to explore in different areas such as research, industry, community pharmacy, ambulatory care and many more.
What are your career interests?
I am particularly interested in pursuing a career in industry or managed care, where I can use my knowledge of pharmacy to help improve healthcare on a broader level. I am also passionate about leadership and hope to guide, collaborate with, and lead others throughout my career.
What piece of advice you would give to a prospective PharmD student?
One piece of advice I would share with prospective students is to get involved early and explore as much as you can throughout your time as a student. Take advantage of the opportunities available to you, even if they are outside of your comfort zone.
On and off-campus involvement
During my time in the U of A pharmacy program, I have been involved in a variety of activities both on and off campus. I have continued working at Fry's Pharmacy as an intern, where I am able to apply what I learn in the classroom to real-world patient care. I have also been involved in the PRIMED Leaders Certificate, which included completing 80 hours of volunteer work this past year. Additionally, I served as the Secretary for SNPhA and will be serving as the Tucson Liaison for IPhO. I am also excited to continue serving as a U of A Pharmacy Ambassador and to share my experiences with prospective and incoming students.
