Why did you choose to get your PharmD Degree?
From a young age, I was drawn to healthcare first through my mother’s experience as a respiratory therapist. Watching my mother’s dedication to patient’s, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired me to pursue a path where I could make a meaningful difference in people's lives. Later in my personal life, I supported my grandmother during her battle with cancer. When I saw how pharmacists played a crucial role in my grandmother’s care through medication management and personal support, I realized that pharmacy uniquely combines compassion with knowledge and service. These experiences ultimately led me to pursue a PharmD degree!
Why did you choose the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
I chose the UofA R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy because it feels like home. Supportive professors, faculty, and classmates make this an incredible place to grow and learn.
What are you most excited about in the versatile WORLD of Pharmacy?
From drug research to frontline care, the possibilities in pharmacy are endless. As an incoming second year student, I'm excited to keep exploring and contributing in meaningful ways.
What are your career interests?
I'm currently interested in pursuing a clinical residency, hoping to specialize in critical care. However, I still remain open to exploring different specialties and pharmacy pathways.
What advice would you give to a prospective PharmD student?
My advice to prospective PharmD students: embrace discomfort as part of growth. This journey won’t always be easy, but you’re never alone—your peers are here to support you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, get involved, and push beyond your comfort zone. That’s where the real learning happens!
