Why did you choose to major in Pharmaceutical Sciences and/or Medical Pharmacology & Toxicology?
I've always been curious about how medications are made and how they actually work in the body. Majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences allows me to explore the entire drug development process as an undergraduate, from the science behind it to how those medications end up helping people. I love the idea of being part of something that can improve someone's health and quality of life. This major gives me the chance to combine my interest in science with my goal of making a difference in people's lives.
What are your career interests?
After receiving my PharmD degree, I plan to become an ambulatory care pharmacist and work closely with patients to help manage their health and make an impact on their lives.
What piece of advice would you give to an incoming PharmSci or PharmTox student?
Don' be afraid to make connections in and outside of class. Studying with others makes learning more enjoyable and less isolating. A strong support system helps you stay motivated, stay on top of work, and manage stress. These connections can grow into lifelong friendships that support you beyond college!
