Q & A

Why did you choose the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy?
  • I chose RKCCOP because it was one of the few schools in the southwest that offered a bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the time that I applied. It also meant that I wouldn’t be too far from home.

What’s one thing you’re most looking forward to in your final year of school?
  • Being able to apply everything I have learned over the last two years. The ability to understand my upper division courses beyond the text took a lot of previous work. The first two years of the BSPS degree really solidify that understanding.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the BSPS program?
  • Stick it out, even if the material seems familiar or is repetitive of what you have already learned. There’s a reason it’s repetitive. On the other hand, it can be very challenging, but in the end it will lead you to the bigger picture that may not be clear when you’re first learning it.

What’s your favorite spot on campus to relax or study?
  • I love HSIB because it offers group and individual study rooms with whiteboards. Yes, even in the individual rooms! It’s a very large, very modern building, with phenomenal views that are really hard to get bored of. So I find myself in there often, especially before exams!

How do you plan to continue your education and professional development after graduation?
  • After graduation, I plan to pursue a PharmD program in hopes of becoming a clinical pharmacist.
