The College of Pharmacy is pleased to recognize Rick G. Schnellmann, PhD, College of Pharmacy dean and the Howard J. Schaeffer Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Arizona for his reception of the 2020-2021 Eugene C. Sander Faculty Fundraising Award. Established by the UArizona Foundation Board of Trustees in 2008, the Eugene C. Sander Faculty Award was named for former UArizona President Eugene C. Sander, and honors faculty who set examples among their peers for upholding high standards of performance in fundraising and development efforts.

Dean Schnellmann was nominated for the award because of his collaborative focus, dedication to an institution-wide commitment to student success and a “One Team” approach to development. Under Dean Schnellmann’s leadership the College had a breakout fundraising year in 2019, raising more than $10 million towards program expenses, faculty recruiting and student scholarships.

“I am honored to receive this award from the University of Arizona Foundation,” noted Dr. Schnellmann. “The College is fortunate to have a strong alumni community that continues to generously support our educational and research mission. I am thankful that our efforts will ensure the College has a bright future for many years to come.”

The award will be presented to Dean Schnellmann during the UArizona Foundation’s Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
