Resources for Writing Your Thank You Letter

Below you will find several prompts to help you craft your personalized thank you letter. Please feel free to include any other details like your hobbies and interests other than pharmacy that show who you are as an individual and stellar student.

Please use “Dear Sponsor” or “Dear Donor” as your salutation.

Named Scholarship with Criteria Additional Prompts:

What criteria for this specific scholarship do you exemplify and demonstrate? 

Examples:

• Leadership
• Hardship
• Service
• Graduate of a specific state or school
• Involvement in college activities
• Non-traditional student
• Pursue specific career path or area of Pharmacy
• Other

General Prompts:

• Why did you choose Pharmacy as a career?
• Are you doing any pharmacy specific volunteering?
• If applicable: experience with rotations?  What was your favorite part of your rotation?
• What impact will the scholarship make on your education?
• Do you have any involvement with research?
• Are you currently working or interning?  Please give details as to what you are doing.
• What are your future plans? (Research, residencies, work for Big Pharma, Retail Pharmacy, etc.)
