• Applicants must have received a bachelor's degree that allows you to be a licensed pharmacist in the country where you obtained the degree.
• Applicants must be in good standing at the University of Arizona or be eligible for matriculation to the university.
• Applicants should have earned a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (2.75 preferred) or greater on a 4.0 scale.
• Prerequisite courses completed more than 7 years before matriculation into the PharmD program may expire and need to be repeated prior to admission.

Admission to the PharmD program requires completion of coursework equivalent to:

* Upper division chemistry and biology courses (with labs) may be accepted to meet general chemistry and biology requirements with admissions staff approval. All science must include a corresponding lab, with the exception of physics.

• Science GPA: 2.5 or higher
• Cumulative prerequisite GPA: 2.5 (2.75 preferred) or higher
• Minimum grade of C in prerequisite courses, grades of B or higher STRONGLY preferred

You must have two recommenders who have agreed to provide an online recommendation and letter submitted online via PharmCAS. A hand-delivered letter will not be accepted. Your recommenders should be people you have worked for, volunteered with under their supervision, or professors. You have the option of naming a third recommender in case one of your preferred two is not able to complete his/her recommendation on time.  

The admissions committee looks for evidence that applicants are acquainted with the field of pharmacy and what it means to be a health care professional. The admissions committee also evaluates applicants on community service and involvement, extracurricular activities and oral and written communications skills. Must be completed prior to applying for admission.

• Minimum of one year is preferred

The experience in a pharmacy-related setting can be completed in a variety of environments.  Examples include:

• traditional pharmacy setting (community pharmacy or a hospital pharmacy unit)
• working with medication policy in a regulatory agency
• employment in pharmaceutical sales
• volunteering at a poison control center
• experience as a pharmacy technician

The transcript evaluation service will electronically send its report directly to the UA College of Pharmacy.  The college only will accept transcripts received from the evaluation service; do not mail your transcripts to the college. As an International Pharmacist applicant, you will submit your official transcripts for evaluation to World Education Services. Follow these steps when submitting your transcript.

VISIT WORLD EDUCATION SERVICES

Applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency. The College of Pharmacy will accept iBT TOEFL or IELTS scores that are no more than two years old. To qualify for admission, your iBT TOEFL total score must be 90 or higher or your IELTS overall score must be 7 or higher. The College of Pharmacy has arranged with TOEFL (ETS) and IELTS to receive your score(s) electronically. Please use the information below to send us your scores. However, applicants can be exempted if they MEET THE CRITERIA set by the University of Arizona.

Test scores must be sent electronically. The college will not accept paper scores.

An acceptance offer may be rescinded if any materials submitted above are not received or are determined to be fraudulent or deceptive.
