Latresa Billings

Latresa Billings, Pharm.D., BCPS is a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas, TX. Recently, Dr. Billings has also become the UT Austin College of Pharmacy Regional Director of Experiential Rotations for the DFW area. After completing her BS degree in Environmental Health Science with emphasis chemistry at the University of Georgia, Dr. Billings received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Tucson, AZ. She transitioned to Dallas, TX for an Advanced Practice General Pharmacy residency through collaborative training experiences provided by Texas Tech University School of Pharmacy/Dallas VA Medical Center. Over 20 years ago, Dr. Billings joined the pharmacy department at UTSW as a Clinical Staff pharmacist prior to becoming a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, providing services to multiple committees within the large academic health system including the Pharmacy Cabinet and Quality Teams, Stroke Core Team, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurocritical Care, Diabetes and Institutional Review Board. She supported the pharmacy department in the initiation of the first ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program at UTSW, serving as the Pharmacy Residency Coordinator as well as primary preceptor for Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Advanced Internal Medicine-Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. For pharmacy students, Dr. Billings serves as a preceptor for institutional and advanced practice rotations, as an adjunct faculty member in the position of Clinical Assistant Professor for several institutions. Dr. Billings served as the Educational Chair and later President for the local Dallas chapter of Metroplex Society of Health-System Pharmacists. Dr. Billings was elected and served two consecutive terms as the Secretary for Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP). She had the honor of being elected as the President of TSHP, whereas she completed service on the TSHP Board of Directors for 12 years. Dr. Billings is serving as a TSHP Public Affairs member. She is also serving as a member of the TSHP R&E Foundation. She was elected for two terms as a Texas representative for the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists House of Delegates. She has been appointed to the ASHP Commission on Affiliate Relations for the last two years. Beyond her service as a former Worthy Chief Councilor of the Alpha Nu chapter, she has continued contributions to the Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity as a life-long alumnus brother, always heeding to the principle motto that "each one needs the help of the others". When she is not traveling, volunteering or enjoying time with her family and friends, Dr. Billings provides relief pharmacist services at Walmart and Sam Club Pharmacies across the Dallas-Ft Worth areas, surpassing her 20th year anniversary of service in January 2022.
