Mission
The Pre-Pharmacy Club is a student organization with a mission to introduce undergraduates to the world of pharmacy and to help its members become the most informed and best prepared applicants to the PharmD program. The organization accomplishes its mission by sharing information and providing opportunities for its members to deepen their understanding of pharmacy careers and the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, in particular.
The organization welcomes undergraduates from any major and from any academic institution. The organization encourages amongst its members a sense of belonging to and involvement with the College of Pharmacy and the Tucson community at large by offering opportunities for its members to connect socially and serve the community through volunteer service. The minimum qualification for membership is a desire to learn more about the field of pharmacy.

How do I get added to or removed from the Pre-Pharmacy Club listserv?
Please do not send a message to the listserv asking to be added or removed from the Pre-Pharmacy Club listserv. These requests are handled by the club staff advisor, Karen Weaver at karenw@arizona.edu
I've requested to be added to the Pre-Pharmacy Club listserv but am not receiving listserv e-mails. What do I do?
Check your junk mail filter. Most of the e-mail service providers, especially Hotmail and Yahoo, tend to classify as “junk” any e-mail which comes from a listserv. If you spot a listserv e-mail in the junk mail folder, open it, and change your settings to allow listserv e-mails to come to your inbox. (With most e-mail providers this is as easy as opening the e-mail and clicking on a button that says something like, "This is not junk".) If you've checked your junk mail folder and still don't see any listserv emails, please e-mail club staff advisor, Karen Weaver at karenw@arizona.edu

I can't attend the Pre-Pharmacy Club meetings because I have a class scheduled during that time. Can I still be a part of the club?

Members who cannot attend the meetings but who attend community service and social events are still considered active members. You can view missed meetings through Webcast Archives.
I have an idea for a Pre-Pharmacy Club meeting topic. How do I go about submitting it for review?
You can send your idea to the club advisor, Karen Weaver at karenw@arizona.edu and, if appropriate, your idea be discussed by club leadership and may possibly be used as a future meeting topic.
The College of Pharmacy is far from the main campus. Why can't the meetings be held somewhere on campus that is more convenient?

By holding the meetings at the college, the club meetings become more than just a meeting; it makes attending meetings an experience.

All of the Pre-Pharmacy Club community service and social events are presented at the monthly club meetings, sent via e-mail through the listserv, and can be found on the Pre-Pharmacy Club page.

For Pre-Pharmacy Club events that are held off campus, transportation is provided by those members who drive and are willing to take others. Members usually meet at the Walkway of Wellness in the College of Pharmacy and carpool to the event.
Do I have to attend Pre-Pharmacy Club community service and/or social events?

When are elections for the Pre-Pharmacy Club?
Elections for officers are generally held in April at the last meeting of the school year. If there are any open officer positions at the beginning of the school year, elections are usually held to fill those during the September meeting. If an officer position opens during the school year, elections for that office will be held at the next club meeting.
What do I have to do to become an Pre-Pharmacy Club officer?
Members wishing to be considered for officer positions must give a short speech during elections. Your speech must include your name, what office you are running for and anything else you would like to add. It is required that you are a UA student; however, if you are attending Pima Community College and will be transferring to UA, you are allowed to run for an officership if you will be enrolled at UA during the year you would serve as an officer. It is recommended, but not required, that you be an active member if you plan on running for any officer position.
