Kevin P. Boesen is the founder and CEO of SinfoniaRx. Prior to joining SinfoniaRx, Dr. Boesen founded the Medication Management Center (the predecessor of SinfoniaRx) while serving as a faculty member at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Dr. Boesen is a leader in the field of pharmacy and medication therapy management.

Perry Cohen is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Pharmacy Group LLC. This company provides marketing services to healthcare, information technology and pharmaceutical companies Perry is a co-founder, past president and fellow of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, a member of the Drug Topics Editorial Advisory Board, Managed Healthcare Executive Editorial Board of Advisors, and a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council, University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy.

R. Ken Coit graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy in 1967, but practiced pharmacy for just three years before beginning a career in investing and financial planning. Ken completed an MBA degree from Pepperdine University while developing his business. He is founder and head of Coit Financial and he is a private real estate investment banker who specializes in leveraged, multi-family properties located in California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.

Jack R. Cole is dean emeritus and professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. He received his bachelor of science in pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona in 1953 and his doctor of philosophy in medicinal chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 1957. Jack was the dean of the College of Pharmacy from 1977 to 1990, and later became the provost and senior vice president for academic affairs for the university.

Kam Gandhi received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is currently the Executive Director of the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. Kam has extensive experience and knowledge in the community pharmacy arena having been a District Pharmacy Manager of Albertsons/Sav-On in the Arizona/California/Nevada/Texas/Utah market. One of Kam’s favorite quotes is, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” –Gandhi. Kam describes himself as a leader who leads by example.

Stan Goldenberg is the president of the LTC Division, Downey Plaza Pharmacy, he is a senior associate of Strom and Associates, LLC, and is the founder of Bravo Pharmacy, a retail pharmacy begun in 2008 to serve the underserved community of Los Angeles. He is a pharmacy consultant and entrepreneur with over 40 years of leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in long-term care (LTC) and senior-care pharmacy.

Ira Halpern co-founded  ModernHEALTHcare Inc. in 1975 and co-founded modern HOMEcare, Inc, in 1989. In his role as president of Modern HEALTH, he is primarily responsible for strategic business development, sales, and marketing. He holds a BS in pharmacy from UA and a BA in business administration from California State University in Northridge.

Chris Hogan is the vice president of pharmacy management at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. He is responsible for formulating clinical pharmacy policy, establishing and maintaining the national pharmacy network and managing relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and claims processing vendors. Chris was the vice president of sales for United Drugs and a department director at Phoenix Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the Arizona Pharmacy Association, who presented him with the Bowl of Hygeia Award for community service in 2004.

Kathleen Kaa is the Vice President of Commercial Programs at Foundation Medicine, enabling deep partnerships with organized oncology customers across the U.S.  Prior to this role she was Head of Global Pricing and Market Access for Roche Oncology, developing and driving global strategies to optimize market access for early and late-stage products.  At Genentech, Kathleen held senior leadership positions in reimbursement operations and field reimbursement; managed care marketing; and in value-based healthcare where she supported providers, patients, brand teams, and led engagements

Richard Katz has been the chief executive officer of ModernHEALTH companies since he began the company in 1975. ModernHEALTH sells specialty pharmacy products and services to healthcare providers and users. Currently, the company specializes in prescription services for disease-payment and service-specific needs. Richard completed a master’s in public administration from the University of Southern California in 1973. He also has a bachelor of science in pharmacy from the University of Arizona.

Shaun Kirkpatrick is the president and chief executive officer of Research Corporation Technologies (RCT), based in Tucson. Shaun oversees RCT’s BioVentures investment portfolio and technology department, and the licensing of activities in North America, Europe, and Australia. Shaun received his master’s degree in international economics and science/technology in international economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

John has over 35 years of experience in all aspects of pharmaceutical drug development and licensing.  He led the preclinical and clinical R&D efforts at MGI Pharma, an oncology-focused company, from 1996 through 2005 and served as a consultant through MGI’s acquisition by Eisai in 2008.  Prior to MGI he worked in large pharma at Warner-Lambert and in academia as an NIH funded researcher at UC San Francisco.

Mobeen is the Healthcare Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations for Walgreens Co., based in Southern Arizona. Mobeen is responsible for building team effectiveness in Pharmacy/Healthcare, using pharmacy knowledge to improve patient health outcomes, implementing pharmacy/healthcare strategy, and championing the patient experience. Mobeen joined Walgreens in 2006 as pharmacy technician. During his tenure, he has held various positions, ascending from pharmacy manager to healthcare supervisor in 2018.

John Musil is the founder of Avella Specialty Pharmacy, which was acquired by UnitedHealthCare in 2018. Avella is a national specialty pharmacy focused on clinical management of patients with rare diseases. John is a 1994 graduate of the UA College of Pharmacy and a recipient of the 2010 Young Professional Achievement Award given by the Arizona Alumni Association. In 2012, Avella received the Arizona Corporate Excellence Award as the fastest-growing privately held company based in Arizona and was a twelve-time recipient as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in America by Inc.

Patrick O'Brien is the general counsel for Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals in Pasadena, California. Before that he was the group vice president and chief legal officer of Shire Pharmaceuticals, a global company headquartered in Ireland. Patrick received both a BS Pharmacy and a PharmD from UA and completed a residency at the University of Michigan. In 1993, he earned a JD degree from UA. Before joining Shire in 2012, O'Brien was a partner in several law firms and, among other positions, counsel for Johnson & Johnson, ALZA Corporation and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Cathleen Peterson-Layne is a professor of anesthesiology and Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. After receiving her BS from UA College of Pharmacy in 1988, Cathleen earned her PhD in pharmacology, then her MD at Duke University.

Shaun Phillips is the CEO at Canyon Vista Medical Center, part of LifePoint Health.  Prior to joining LifePoint, he spent 10 years in executive leadership for Bronson Healthcare Group, a not-for-profit, integrated health system operating in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. 

Additionally, he had nearly 10 years of experience in various pharmacy leadership roles at Trinity Health, a multi-state, Catholic healthcare organization.   

Klaus Romero is the Chief Science Officer at the Critical Path Institute (C-Path). Dr. Romero, a clinical pharmacologist and epidemiologist with more than 17 years combined experience in academic and pharmaceutical clinical research, translational sciences, pharmacometrics, modeling and simulation and pharmacoepidemiology, has been with C-Path since December 2007.

Mary J. Ryan is an emeritus board member who worked for Medco Health Solutions, Inc., from 1988 until 2012. She is retired as vice president, corporate regulatory group, responsible for interface with various regulatory agencies, including state boards of pharmacy and departments of insurance. Mary graduated from UA with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy in 1974. She completed her master’s degree in business administration at Arizona State University in 1983.

Joseph Scheeren, PharmD, worked in R&D in the Pharmaceutical Industry for over 35 years in the USA, China and Europe. He led Regulatory Affairs and Development in US/China in Bayer in the last 15 years. Since January 2019, he is Adjunct Professor at Peking University for Regulatory Sciences in the Department of Clinical Research. In April 2019 he joined C-Path Institute as its President and CEO. Dr. Scheeren serves on Advisory Boards at the Center for Innovation in Regulatory Science, the Regulatory Affairs Track at Yale University, the Center of Regulatory Excellence in Singapore.

Rick G. Schnellmann, PhD, is dean endowed chair of the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy and holds the Howard J Schaeffer in Pharmaceutical Sciences Endowed Chair. A leading pharmacologist, researcher and drug discovery entrepreneur, he joined the UA in August 2016 from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Bruce Seligmann is the co-founder and CSO of BioSpyder Technologies, Inc., and is conducting research in collaboration with the University of Arizona Cancer Center. He's also the co-founder, director, chief science officer and vice president of research at High Throughput Genomics based in Tucson.

Hilary Sheevers received her PhD from the University of Arizona in 1994, under Dr. A. Jay Gandolfi. After leaving Arizona, Dr. Sheevers was employed in CDER at FDA, Washington, D.C., as a reviewer and a supervisor.  At FDA, she served on or chaired committees including carcinogenicity, reproductive and developmental toxicity, phototoxicity, botanical products, and excipients. Since leaving FDA, Hilary has consulted as a senior toxicologist to the pharmaceutical industry, and founded Aclairo PDG, Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in drugs and biologics development.

Dr. I. Glenn Sipes is Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona. While at Arizona, his research program focused on the biotransformation of xenobiotics and on chemical-induced liver and ovarian injury. He authored over 250 research publications and was a co-editor-in-chief of Comprehensive Toxicology (13 volumes). For 29 years he served as head of the Departments of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the UA College of Pharmacy and of Pharmacology in the UA College of Medicine.

Bill is currently an Executive Director at Gilead Sciences in Foster City, CA and head of the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics department. The DMPK department provides nonclinical in vitro and in vivo data to support drug discovery and development. Bill received a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Utah, a Ph.D. in Pharm/Tox from the University of Arizona and completed post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

Brianne Spaeth, Pharm D, is the owner and Pharmacist-in-charge at Desert Life Pharmacy in SaddleBrooke, where she strives to promote a strong community focused patient care environment.

Marcus Sredzinski is the chief operating officer and executive vice president of Medical Security Card Company, LLC and ScriptSave in Tucson, where he is responsible for pharmacy strategic initiatives including clinical programs, operations and trade relations. Prior to joining ScriptSave, Marcus was a managed care executive of national accounts for Elan Pharmaceuticals and pharmacy director at HealthPartners Health Plan. A 1991 graduate of the UA College of Pharmacy, he holds a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and chemistry and a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Lee Ann Stember is President & CEO of NCPDP, a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder forum for developing healthcare business solutions, including ANSI-accredited standards for electronic exchange of healthcare information. As President & CEO for nearly four decades, she has led NCPDP to continued success in its transformative role in pharmacy services, creating and promoting adoption of consensus-based standards and best practices that improve patient safety and decrease costs.

Greg Watanabe joined MedImpact Healthcare Systems in 2005 and served in senior positions in operations, sales, innovation and strategy before being appointed president in 2010. Previously he owned and operated a community pharmacy in Tucson and then spent 20 years in various positions of increasing responsibility in managed health care and pharmacy benefit industries. He graduated with a bachelor of science in pharmacy and a master's in business administration from the University of Arizona.  

William Wheeler was the director of national accounts at Eli Lilly and Company from 1982 to 1997.  He worked at Eli Lilly his entire professional life, beginning as an associate in 1965. William holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Arizona and a master’s of business administration from Arizona State University. He has served on the Advisory Board for the National Employers Group. William was an officer in the U.S. Air Force Medical Service Corps from 1962 to 1965.
