The H.O.P.E. Center

For nearly 40 years, this center has assessed health care interventions from a clinical, economic and humanistic view.

 

Established in 1986, the center collaborates with researchers, academic institutions, health care organizations and pharmaceutical firms worldwide. Research focuses include cost-effectiveness analysis, quality-of-life assessment, pharmaceutical policy analysis and drug-use evaluation. 

Mission

To conduct quality research and disseminate information to enhance the application of economic and effectiveness measures to the practice of health care and the management of health systems.

Vision

To become a premier source of information, training and collaborative research in assessing the effectiveness of healthcare interventions.

Research

Research at the HOPE Center takes advantage of the University of Arizona's strong supporting programs in management and policy, epidemiology and economics.

HOPE Center faculty have published hundreds of scholarly manuscripts, served as leaders in organizations such as the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), consulted with government agencies across the globe and served as experts on industry advisory committees.

Moreover, HOPE Center researchers have a proven track record in funded research and securing grants and contracts from federal, public, foundation and private sector sources.
