Internship is a supervised practical pharmacy experience required for board licensure. The length of internship varies from state to state.

The state of Arizona require 1500 hours. Eligibility for internship does not begin until a student has started classes in a school of pharmacy, has paid the internship fee, and has an approved application on file with the State Board of Pharmacy. Individuals who are not officially students may not be recognized as interns (i.e. those who choose to drop out and those who are disqualified or expelled).
