Former students and colleagues of Paul Myrdal, PhD composed and contributed a memorial issue of PharmSciTech , the journal of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), on his research in pharmaceutical formulation and aerosol sciences.
Dr. Myral was a beloved faculty member in the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science from 2000 to 2018, where he taught students in the PharmD and PhD programs, mentored dozens of PhD students, and served on over 45 PhD graduate committees. Dr. Myrdal contributed significantly to pharmaceutical science throughout his professional career and authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications and nine book chapters on a variety of aspects of analytical chemistry, solutions, solid state characterization, formulation development, and drug delivery. In addition to his teaching duties, he was Chief Editor for AAPS PharmSciTech journal. Paul received his PhD at UArizona College of Pharmacy under the direction of Samuel Yalkowsky, PhD. Dr. Yalkowsky considers Paul to be one of his most productive graduate students, a great colleague, and a personal friend.
