The University of Arizona College of Pharmacy has appointed Jennifer Jones as its development director. She has more than ten years of experience working in the community foundation sector and nearly 25 years of experience working in philanthropy and fundraising.
Jones will support efforts to raise significant levels of philanthropic support for the College. She will work closely with College leadership, along with department heads, directors and faculty members, to ensure alignment and implementation of all development goals and activities.
“Jennifer brings a broad range of fundraising expertise to the College of Pharmacy,” said Rick G. Schnellmann, PhD, professor and dean of the college. “We are confident in her ability to deepen our PharmCat connections in the community and with long-standing donors, friends and alumni.”
Jones started her career as a respiratory therapist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. She went on to focus on community and school-based efforts to address pediatric asthma for the American Lung Association (ALA) in Missouri and Arizona. Jones later served as the Executive Director for the ALA of Southern Arizona. In 2003, she became a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and most recently worked as the Director of Donor Engagement for the Community Foundation (CF) for Southern Arizona, leading its efforts to raise $4 million for the CF campus. Jones is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in community health education from Southern Illinois University. She lives in the Foothills with her daughters, Audrey (14) and Avery (11) and their dog, Dandy.
