HIV/AIDS Awareness Week slated after Thanksgiving

The College of Pharmacy chapter of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation will sponsor HIV/AIDS Awareness Week from Monday, Nov. 28 through Thursday, Dec. 1 in honor of World AIDS Day. Different speakers are planned for each day from noon to 1 p.m. in Pharmacy (Skaggs) 325.

The schedule of lectures appears below. Lunch will be complimentary to attendees. Come early, seating is limited!

Monday, Nov. 28
Speakers: Students for International Change
Lunch: Baggins

Tuesday, Nov. 29
Speakers: Dr. Carol Schneiderman, the University of Arizona Medical Center – South Campus, and patient Phil
Lunch: Tucson Tamale Company

Wednesday, Nov. 30
Speaker: Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation
Lunch: Falafel King

Thursday, Dec. 1
World AIDS DAY
Speaker: Dr. Natalie Perkins, El Rio Community Health Center
Lunch: Old Peking

Participants are encouraged to wear red shirts to show their support for the fight against AIDS. Additionally, IPSF is selling red tee-shirts for $10 each. Those who purchase a shirt will be allowed to skip ahead to the front of the lunch line every day of HIV/AIDS Awareness Week. To purchase a shirt, contact Sarah Norman.
