Pharmacy associate dean named VP of International Pharmaceutical Federation

Philip Schneider, associate dean for academic and professional affairs at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, has been named vice president and a fellow of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).

FIP is a global federation of national associations that represent more than two million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists around the world. Schneider oversees the academic and program initiatives of the UA College of Pharmacy at the Phoenix Biomedical Campus.

Schneider’s election as vice president representing the FIP Board of Pharmaceutical Practice was ratified Aug. 28 at the 70th FIP World Congress of Pharmacy/

Pharmaceutical Sciences in Lisbon. He will serve as vice president for four years.

Schneider was introduced as a fellow at the opening session Aug. 29. The fellowship designation recognizes individual members of FIP who have exhibited strong leadership internationally, who have distinguished themselves and contributed to the advancement of the practice of pharmacy and the pharmaceutical sciences, and who have served FIP.

Schneider recently completed a four-year term as chairman of the federation’s Board of Pharmaceutical Practice.
