Collins to lead student services at UA COP

Barbara Collins, BS, MEd, has been appointed director of student services for the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.

The student services office supports students enrolled in the doctor of pharmacy program and directs recruitment of new students, advising to prepharmacy and current students, new student orientation, scholarship and financial aid administration and student event coordination. Nearly 400 PharmD students are currently enrolled at the college.

Collins has been an academic adviser at the university for more than seven years. She served in that capacity at the College of Sciences from 2003 to 2006 and at the College of Education from 2006 to the present. Before coming to UA, Collins taught science, reading and other subjects at Old Vail Middle School in Vail, Ariz., and French Ford Middle School in Winnemucca, Nev.

Collins holds a master of education degree from Northern Arizona University, a bachelor of science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and an Arizona elementary education license.
