Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. is the world's oldest and largest pharmacy fraternity. It was founded on May 30, 1879 in New Haven, Conn. There are currently 191 chapters (110 Collegiate and 81 Graduate). There are more than 6,000 collegiate members and over 87,000 graduate members across the United States, Canada, and the Bahamas. There are 2 chapters of Kappa Psi at the University of Arizona: Gamma Upsilon and Zeta Chi.
Gamma Upsilon
The Gamma Upsilon chapter of Kappa Psi has been involved in multiple philanthropy projects. Our philanthropy charity is the American Red Cross; we hold fundraising events to raise money for them. We also participate in the annual Pharmacy Day on the Mall and Legislative Day at the state capitol. During the fall of November 2014, we raised more than $1,500 for the Movember campaign to promote men's health and awareness. During this campaign, our Grand Council Deputy, Dr. John Murphy, raffled the opportunity to be the first person to shave his mustache - he had had the mustache for more than 40 years.Gamma Upsilon is constantly striving to enhance brotherhood. The diversity of our events encourages all brothers to come together to participate as one. Such events include our end-of-the-year banquet, kickball games, dinner get-togethers, a yearly corn maze trip, and many other activities to keep us involved in brotherhood.
We have won multiple regional and national awards in the past few years. For the 2008-2009 school year, we were awarded the “Best Brotherhood Event” for our region, and for the 2009-2010 school year, we were awarded the “Most Improved Chapter” award at a national level. Most recently, we were awarded the “Community Service Award” for our region for our work at Pharmacy Day on the Mall in the fall of 2011.
The Gamma Upsilon chapter of Kappa Psi strives to combine philanthropy, fellowship, scholarship, and leadership into one great brotherhood.

Zeta Chi
Zeta Chi was founded on May 12th, 2018 at the University of Arizona-Phoenix Campus. Our Chapter may be small and new, but it is mighty! Zeta Chi aims to incorporate the Pillars of Kappa Psi in our daily lives (Industry, Sobriety, Fellowship and High Ideals).
Our members inspire Industry by holding many leadership positions and taking on amazing opportunities like becoming a Commissioned Corps officer in the JrCOSTEP or internships at Mayo Clinic. We practice Sobriety by balancing our fun with hard work. We strengthen our Fellowship with our social events. Since we are such a new Chapter, we are still developing traditions to pass down to future Brothers of our Chapter. We’ve hosted events such as murder mystery dinners, escape rooms, and just enjoying each other’s companies. We strive to uphold High Ideals by engaging in charity events. Our Chapter’s philanthropy charity is Feed My Starving Children, an organization that provides food for children across the world that are in need. Our Chapter participates in their packing sessions numerous times per year. We’ve helped pack thousands of meals, which help feed children for many years to come. Kappa Psi’s official national philanthropy partner is Reach Out and Read, an organization whose aim is to provide books for children to increase literacy. We’ve helped them reach their goals by hosting book drives and fundraisers to help their cause.
Even though our Chapter is new, we’ve won the Best in PacWest Award for donating the most to the Pacific West Province’s Professional Clothing Drive, donating 17x as much as other Chapters in the province.
