Poison center draws a crowd at the Tucson Festival of Books

The Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center booth in the Science City portion of the Tucson Festival of Books, held on the UA Mall March 14 and 15, was a very popular stop for children and adults alike.

“We had over 3,000 visitors to the tent and helped over 1,000 guests make pipe-cleaner spiders,” says Liz Barta, poison education specialist from the poison center.

Employees are the heart of AHSC

Leaders of the Arizona Health Sciences Center thanked employees of the center with a big barbecue Monday, March 10 on the Arizona Health Sciences Plaza.

In a memo to College of Pharmacy faculty and staff, Dean J. Lyle Bootman wrote, "This lunch is an opportunity for senior management to acknowledge the amazing efforts from each and every one of you, and to express our profound gratitude for the dedication and exertion you have shown."

College celebrates end of 2014 academic year with a picnic

At the end of every year, Student Council sponsors a lunchtime picnic for the College of Pharmacy. As the slide show above illustrates, students and employees alike gathered on April 24 for hamburgers, hot dogs and a few vegetarian options.

After grubbing down on food, the Student Council recognized faculty member Todd Camenisch with the Theodore Tong Leadership and Service Award.
