Smiling young Asian man with suit and tieCongratulations to the 44 COP graduating students and alumni who were recently matched with PGY1, PGY2, and combined PGY1/PGY2 residency programs. Nationally, 4,358 PGY1 candidates applied for 2,811 residency openings, for a national placement rate of 64.5 percent.

John Murphy, associate dean for academic affairs and assessment and professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, says, “We are so proud of our graduating students and alumni who have been selected for these important opportunities. The high percent of successful candidates is a key indicator of the reputation of our students and college and of the efforts of several faculty in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science in preparing the students for interviewing and the match. We know all of our graduates are wonderful no matter the path they choose in the profession, and we expect that all of them will be amazing pharmacists who exhibit great compassion for their patients and a desire to always strive to advance the profession. Congratulations to you all.”
