Nimer Alsaid, a PhD student in the program of Health and Pharmaceutical Outcomes, has been invited by the Journal of Clinical Therapeutics to become a reviewer for outcome studies in the area of oncology. Alsaid joined the College of Pharmacy in 2015 under the supervision of Professor Ivo Abraham. He completed his master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the College in 2017. Alsaid's interest is in the area of pharmaceutical economic modeling, precision medicine and oncology.
Alsaid has co-led the hematology/oncology research group in the HOPE Center with Abraham. The research group has collaborations with clinicians from the University of Arizona Cancer Center led by Dr. Ali McBride. The hematology/oncology group has recently become known in the area of comparative effectiveness studies and innovative economic modeling techniques for cancer interventions. The scientific contribution of the group has shown up in scientific meetings like the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research, and International Pharmaceutical Federation.
