TOPIC: Area middle school students attending UA College of Pharmacy program:
PharmCamp explores the pharmacy profession
Twenty-one students from Tucson middle schools are learning more about
pharmacy and environmental health from UA College of Pharmacy student
pharmacists and staff at PharmCamp 2012.
WHEN: Monday, June 4 through Friday, June 8, 2012
8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day
WHERE: The University of Arizona campus
WHAT: For the 15th year, PharmCamp attendees will get a look at pharmacy and
environmental health through interactive exercises, a pharmacy tour, and projects
and activities designed to show and teach the many aspects of pharmacy
practice.
WHO: This year, 21 students from the following Tucson area schools are attending:
Wildcat Charter School, Safford Middle School, Degrazia, Sahuarita, Roskruge,
Esperanza, Paulo Friere and Saints Peter & Paul. They are being led in exercises
by current pharmacy and prepharmacy students, as well as faculty and employees
of the UA College of Pharmacy and the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences
Center.

Photo-worthy events at PharmCamp will be the “New CPR” training June 6 at 2:30 p.m. and the sun safety awareness activity June 7 at 10:30 a.m. Media are also welcome to visit other activities.
