During the course of my PhD program in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Arizona, my research focused on the mechanistic effects of prostaglandin mediated protection against chemical induced caused by nephrotoxicant specific 2,3,5-tris(glutathione-S-yl)hydroquinone (TGHQ). Utilizing several approaches including confocal microscopy and proteomics, specific focus was on the contribution PGE2 selective induction of both heat shock protein 27 (Hsp27) and retinol binding protein (RBP) and their role in its protection.
I am currently working as a Toxicologist in the Environmental Health and Safety group at Chevron Energy Technology Company in Richmond, CA. My position is involves direct support for several Chevron Operating Companies with both toxicity testing and hazard characterization and communication of additive packages in order to ensure profitable marketing that meets global regulatory guidelines. The University of Arizona has provided given me the training and skills I need as a scientist and the ability to work as a product toxicologist that capable of identifying and communicating those potential risks associated with chemicals that affect our current population.
