My research in the Medicinal and Natural Products Chemistry Program focused on the validation and drug targeting of the Aurora kinases to treat cancer. I used genetic and pharmacological approaches to perturb the Aurora kinase signaling pathway in order to understand the biological consequences and potential clinical outcomes of an Aurora-targeted therapy. Additionally, I employed a structure-based approach to design and develop a novel class of small molecule Aurora kinase inhibitors.
