Bio / Research:

Kevin Boesen, PharmD, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, director of experiential education and director of the medication management center.

His primary responsibility is coordinating and managing all of the clinical rotations for the fourth-year pharmacy students. Dr. Boesen works with approximately 500 pharmacists at more than 200 sites both in Arizona and across the country.

Dr. Boesen is also the founder and director of one of the college's newest programs. The Medication Management Center is a pharmacist-run call center focused on delivering innovative medication therapy management services. Initially partnering with a national Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan, the center focuses on providing medication therapy management services to patients with asthma, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.

Before joining the faculty of the College of Pharmacy in 2004, Dr. Boesen worked in a variety of pharmacy and management positions. His experience includes positions in hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry and the medical device industry. He has held manager-level positions in retail pharmacy and manager- and director-level positions in both the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.

Dr. Boesen serves on a number of committees. He utilizes his experience and expertise in the experiential training program and customizes career development plans for students and faculty preceptors. Dr. Boesen also serves as faculty advisor to the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) student chapter.
