How To Participate
Nuestra Comunidad, Nuestra Salud offers practicums and coursework during spring, summer and fall. Graduate and undergraduate students from pharmacy, nursing, medicine, nutrition, public health and social work may participate.
For further information on eligibility requirements and applicability to your desired course of study, contact the appropriate faculty member below in your discipline. Each of the disciplines involved in the NCNS project is committed to working with individual students to integrate the project into the student's curriculum plan.

- Issues in Rural Health Care - 3 credits (Cross listed in Nursing as N 579, Pharmacy as PhPr 579, Psychology as Psyc 579, Health Administration and MPH as PHL 579)
- Field Work Practicum/Externship
- Spring and Fall Semesters: At least one day a week working in Nogales, Arizona with participating disciplines.
- Summer: Eight weeks residing full-time in Nogales, Arizona, or by arrangement. Credits TBA by each participating discipline. Opportunity to participate in the annual AZ Rural Health Conference.
- Web-Based Seminar - If you are not a student or faculty member of the University of Arizona, Arizona State University or Northern Arizona University, please contact Jeannine Valcour for more information.
To facilitate planning, students should make their interest in participating in the project known to the appropriate faculty member as soon as possible.
Financial Support
The project provides small stipends to support participants in Interdisciplinary Rural Health Training for students in pharmacy, nursing, social work, medicine, public health and nutrition.
