Meeting Minutes

February 24, 2003

Attendees: Our new advisor Dr. Rachel French, Kathleen Collier (Chapter President), Kim Lightner (former president), Jesse Fishman (President-elect), Darcy Tincombe (former vice-president), Kathryn Matthias (past and current treasurer), Amanda Keller (Secretary), Terry Yampolsky (former secretary), Katie Coates (Katy's Kids Coordinator), Katie Steffel (former Katy's Kids Coordinator), Jessie Mance (Open Airways Coordinator), Komal Naidu (former Open Airways Coordinator).

Welcome to all new members listed above and Dr. French who is officially our faculty advisor for the coming year. Newly elected officers met with last year's officers to discuss job related duties. Fundraisers: possible option to the old coffee mug idea, purchasing mugs at one of the discount stores and having them engraved with COP artwork may be more cost effective than having them made by a fundraiser supplier. Kathryn Matthias will be looking into this further. Katy's Kids has a date set for Sunrise Elementary, March 26, 2003,which will be a rather large group of several classrooms. Ronald McDonald House has a date set for Mar. 8, 2003 from 3-5pm to bake cookies, perhaps take them over to UMC if it is an appropriate day to deliver them. Jesse Fishman will look into possible Easter egg dying or spring activity at the Ronald McDonald House. Tab collecting for the Ronald McDonald House will continue with a box brought out and an announcement made at every lunch/speaker presentation. The Ostomy Fair had a good turn out this year. A group that has patients with Myasthenia Gravis is also interested in having us come out for a brown bag day. Kathleen Collier, president, will be following up with that group to set an official date for a brown bag.
