Lauren Bartoli (right), Class of 2011, won the Neil Pruitt Sr. Memorial Scholarship offered by the National Community Pharmacists Association. The $2,500 award is given to a pharmacy student who has demonstrated leadership, academic achievement and an interest in entrepreneurship. Bartoli was presented with the award at the NCPA Foundation Awards Ceremony in New Orleans last month.
Michael Kimzey, a graduate student in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, was a student poster award winner at the Research Frontiers in Nutritional Sciences conference at the UA in early October. Kimzey won $250 for his poster, which was about biomarker diversity in type 2 diabetes complications.
Alumni
Heather Magallon, PharmD 2002, was featured in the 2008 Annual Report of the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. Magallon is a board-certified clinical pharmacy specialist at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno.
