FYI: Graduate student club hosts career development seminar
The COP Graduate Student Council organized a career development seminar Oct. 9 at which college alumnus Gary Ward, PhD 1993, spoke. Ward is vice president of chemistry, manufacturing and controls at Pfizer’s Bioinnovation and Biotherapeutics Center in San Diego. In his presentation, “Biologic Drugs: Past, Present and Future,” he discussed changing trends and the importance of biologic drugs in the pharmaceutical industry. More than 40 students from COP graduate tracks who attended had the opportunity to get career counseling from Ward, who has experience ranging from research to administration.
“I strongly believe that these kinds of events are useful,” said A. Quadir Khan, president of the Graduate Student Council. “The club is committed to bringing more speakers in the future for the professional development of students.”
