Going to Homecoming?

Homecoming is on the way, and College of Pharmacy employees are currently planning several events for alumni who come back to visit friends and mentors. On Nov. 6 and 7, COP will host a reception, dinner, an awards program and more.
The festivities here begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, with a reception on the lawn and south patio of Drachman Hall. Guests will mingle and meet under the trees, with wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres available to get the good times rolling.
At 7 p.m., we’ll sit down to dinner and also honor recent retirees and awards recipients. Two who will be honored are Associate Dean Theodore Tong and Jude McNally, managing director of the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center. (Other award winners will be announced soon). Tong and McNally will be fresh from the Alumni Association Awards, where they will accept the Honorary Alumnus Award and the Professional Achievement Award, respectively.
Saturday morning, revelers are invited back to the Drachman lawn for a continental breakfast and carnival from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Planners are expecting to have face-painting, Katy the Kangaroo presentations for kids, pie throwing and perhaps volley ball. Afterward, COPers will head to the main campus to cheer for the COP float entry, built by pharmacy students, in the Homecoming parade.
At 1:30 p.m., the Wildcats take on Washington State for the big game. The college has reserved a block of tickets; to buy a ticket in the Pharmacy block, call (520)621-2287 or go to arizonaathletics.com and use the "PHARM" promotional code.
COP planners seek student, staff and faculty volunteers to help out with many of these events. If you would like to lend a hand during Homecoming or need more information, contact Lynne Mascarella, director of alumni affairs, at mascarella@pharmacy.arizona.edu.
