COP employees: Are you going to get paid after Sept. 27?

If you are a College of Pharmacy employee, by now you probably have seen at least one scary memo talking about how you might not get paid after Sept. 27. Is this true? Yes! Can you prevent it? Easily! Read on.
On Sept. 28, The University of Arizona will implement, as part of the Mosaic project, a new computer-based time reporting system for all employees. A time reporting system is the system that tells the university how much to pay you. All employees will need to use the new system, which is called UAccess. If you don’t use it properly, there is a chance you might not get paid correctly. Therefore, all employees need to take training on how to use UAccess.
The type of training you need depends on the type of employee you are. For time reporting purposes, there are two main types of employees in the new system:
1. If you are a non-exempt employee (whether or not you have been filling out a paper time card to report your work hours), you are a positive time reporter. Starting Sept. 28, you will need to fill out an electronic timesheet every pay period using UAccess. The COP business office will send an e-mail to all non-exempt employees in the college notifying them of their status as positive time reporters.
2. If you have been reporting only time off (for example, only vacation and sick leave and not hours you worked) using either a paper blue sheet or the COP Internal Links On-Line Time Card System, you are an exception time reporter (exempt employee). Starting Sept. 28, you will need to report any time off using UAccess.
If you fall into category 2, you might also be a third type of employee:
• If you currently approve another employee’s time card or time-off requests (vacation, sick leave, jury duty, etc.), you are a time approver. Starting Sept. 28, you will need to approve your employees’ timesheets and time-off requests using UAccess.
(Note: There is another type of employee you will see listed in the training sessions, a “time coordinator.” The College of Pharmacy has only three time coordinators, and they are all in the business office. They have already received their training, so you may disregard any mention of “time coordinators.”)
Whatever type of time system user you are, there is training available to help you. Before you learn about that, though, read this, then press your browser's "back" arrow to return to this story.
Important: In addition to the new time reporting system, UA will implement a new paycheck reporting system Sept. 28. If you have been receiving a centrally printed paper “paycheck advice” of your direct deposit paycheck, you will no longer receive that after Sept. 28. All notices of pay will be available online, through UAccess.
Training to help you learn to use UAccess is available through live workshops and online tutorials. You may take either type of training, or both, if you prefer. (In addition to taking training, you may download and print time reporting instructions.) Here is how to access both methods of training, depending on what type of time reporter you are:
If you are a positive time reporter (non-exempt employee):
Go to this Web site and complete the online tutorial and/or register for a live workshop (you will see that there are live workshops scheduled to be held at AHSC Friday, Sept. 18): positive time reporter training
If you are an exception time reporter (exempt employee):
Go to this Web site and complete the online tutorial and/or register for a live workshop (you will see that there are live workshops scheduled to be held at AHSC Friday, Sept. 18): exception time reporter training
If you are a time approver:
Go to this Web site and complete the online tutorial and/or register for a live workshop (there is one live workshop scheduled at AHSC, on Sept. 18, but it is currently full; others on main campus are available): time approver training
