Student elected national officer
Jennifer Esch (pictured), Class of 2010, is a national officer in Phi Delta Chi fraternity. Esch assumed the position of grand vice president for student affairs at the Grand Council meeting in Phoenix in August. She is the only student who holds a national office in the fraternity.

In her position, Esch helps plan events and decide fraternity expenditures. She also oversees the five regional officers from across the country. Esch will serve her term until the next Grand Council meeting in Niagara Falls, New York in 2011.

Boesen finalist in Arizona Daily Star contest
Kevin Boesen, assistant professor and director of the Medication Management Center, was selected as a finalist for the Arizona Daily Star’s 2009 40 Under 40 awards. Boesen was chosen as one of 60 finalists from a pool of 220 nominees. In the next few weeks, the Star’s panel of judges will narrow the pool to 40 winners, who will be recognized at a breakfast Oct. 15. The contest is sponsored by Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P.

SSHP achieves official recognition
The Student Society of Health System Pharmacists (SSHP) achieved official ASHP-SSHP recognition for the 2009-2010 year. This is the first year the COP chapter of SSHP has achieved recognition. In conjunction with the honor, the chapter will receive one complimentary student registration to the 2009 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas. SSHP will also receive an incoming and outgoing officer award from the national organization.
