APhA-ASP hosted Pharmacy Day on the Mall Oct. 1. The event gave pharmacy students a chance to connect with UA students and faculty alike and educate them about various health and safety topics. There were even free root beer floats for all of those who participated!
The COP student club organized various educational tables on topics such as HIV/AIDS awareness, sleep hygiene, immunization, Rx awareness, heartburn, breast cancer awareness, over-the-counter medication safety, prescription drug abuse and diversion, poison control and smoking cessation. APhA-ASP members tested more than 40 people at the asthma, diabetes and hypertension screenings.
