UA Health and Pharmaceutical Outcomes Grad Students Represent at National Conference

Health and Pharmaceutical outcome graduate students (and International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research - ISPOR members) and faculty attended the Western Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research Conference on October 4-6, 2017 in Albuquerque, NM. Eleven students, one post-doctoral fellow, two faculty members, and one alumnus represented the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy by attending and/or presenting research at this conference. The conference also provided this group the opportunity to network with students and faculty in similar pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes programs in the western states of the US.

Achievements from this conference, specific to the University of Arizona, were from Chanadda Chinthammit, who had a podium presentation and was awarded first place for Best Podium Presentation; Mira Patel, who was recognized for her leadership within the ISPOR Student Network; and Kristin Khalaf Gillard, who sat on a career panel and shared her insight as a graduate student in the HPO program and her transition into a career in industry/consulting. In addition, six of our students had abstracts accepted for poster presentations during the conference.

Lastly, the HPO graduate students are extremely grateful to the UA HOPE Center for providing funding (by covering accommodation and transportation) to attend and present at this conference.
