Thanks to all of our colleagues who joined us in celebrating Homecoming and our 70th anniversary! Our Friday was packed with activities prior to the reception, including honoring R. Ken Coit, '67, a longtime friend and advocate for the college, who was named Alumni of the Year. Classmates from 1967 joined as they also celebrated their 50th class reunion. Alumni from across the years enjoyed reminiscing, touring the college's History of Pharmacy Museum and going to the football game. The classes of 1977 and 2007 were also well represented on their milestone anniversary years.
Prior to the festive weekend, our National Advisory Board held its fall meeting. Comprised of 24 leaders with a passion for pharmacy at UA, the mission of the board is to provide guidance and support to advance our programs, faculty and students. It was a productive one where we were able to highlight recent advances for our college - new dual-degree programs, expanded rural health outreach, and updates on our Skaggs Challenge progress.
The Skaggs Challenge is quickly picking up the pace as we near our deadline to raise funds to expand and renovate the Skaggs building. As of October 17, we have approximately $2.2 million left to raise by December 31, 2017! We are thankful for all of our donors and any contribution made to this mission-critical campaign.
It was truly a special weekend for all of us here at the College. BEAR DOWN!
