Mediciation Management Specialist

Lisa Hettich Barnhart joined the Medication Management Center in 2011.  Dr. Barnhart’s primary role is to expand and develop strategic partnerships and collaborations. She also supports program development and client support.

Before joining the College of Pharmacy, Barnhart was a clinical pharmacist for WellPoint, Inc., with responsibilities for Medicare Part D programs, including their Medication Therapy Management Program.  While at WellPoint, her Medication Therapy Management roles provided her opportunities for program development, oversight and program analysis.  She was actively involved in the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee providing clinical support to the Health Plan.  Prior to joining WellPoint, Lisa owned her own Medication Therapy Management company which provided senior pharmaceutical consultation services.

Lisa has been actively involved in the Medication Therapy Management Certification program acting both on the development of the certification as well as a trainer.  She has spoken on Medication Therapy Management at the National level on several occasions.  She is a graduate of Purdue University (Pharmacy degree) as well as Indiana State University (Molecular Biology degree).
