Janet Cooley graduated from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 2006. After working for a year in the community at the Apothecary Shop, she moved to the University of Arizona Medical Center-South Campus hospital to serve as the outpatient pharmacy supervisor. While there, she became a preceptor and hosted quality improvement and APPE students and became a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist.

In November 2011, Janet began as the director of experiential education for the college. Here, Janet teaches and coordinates the Preparation for Rotations course, hosts a Mock Interview Day, an annual Career Day and works with the student leadership in SSHP to host the annual Residency/Preceptor Showcase. Additionally, for the first time March of 2013, she worked with Target, APhA and NCPA to host a Case Study Competition.

In addition to these student-focused tasks, Janet coordinates different education opportunities for preceptors, continues to recruit and orient new preceptors, and is in communication with our existing preceptors. This includes the management of about 700 preceptors and 400 practice sites as well as the experiential education team. If you are interested in participating in any of the programs mentioned above, please contact Janet.
